We invite you to come join us for home cooking, conversation, and community.

Under new management of owners Bob and Mitchell, the Little Creek Café continues to be a Madison County institution. Established in 1952 by Edna Boone, the Little Creek has been a landmark in the community, serving up home cooking and a place for the community to gather ever since. It is the only business to survive the building of I-26 in the Exit 3 area and serves as a reminder for locals that while some things change, others stay the same.

Bob and Mitchell picked the area to set down final roots after Bob finished a 35-year active-duty career with the Air Force followed by five years of federal civilian service. Prior to enlisting, Bob cooked and ran restaurants, and Mitchell wouldn’t let him just stay home and hang out for his retirement, which spurred them to reach out to the Boones and purchase Little Creek. Part of Mitchell’s family has called Madison County home since the 1820s, and she was thrilled to get to move to a place that had been the source of so many family stories. Mitchell’s sister and her family live just down the road from Bob and Mitchell, and their mother, aunts, and several cousins are in Asheville.

Edna Boone was famous for her cream pies, which Little Creek continues to serve up (based on her original recipe, which was saved by Ardis Honeycutt and passed on to Bob and Mitchell). In addition, Little Creek serves a full breakfast and lunch every day except Sundays. We take home cooking to a new level, with special sauces and homemade jellies and jams. Each day we feature a house-made item to go along with delicious hamburgers and sandwiches for lunch.

Welcome home!

“I always make time for fresh-baked bread with homemade jam at Little Creek Cafe.”
